Winter, Tormented Loner

About Winter, Tormented Loner

Winter, Tormented Loner, Legendary creature — human warlock, designed by Miranda Meeks first released in September 2026 in the set Reality Fracture and was printed exactly in 2 different ways. It see play in 2 formats: Pioneer and Standard. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of C$ 0.49.

Winter, Tormented Loner fits best in black-based Aristocrats, sacrifice, self-mill, or graveyard-midrange decks that can cheaply produce expendable creatures—such as token makers, recursive creatures, or creatures that want to die—because its enter-the-battlefield ability turns a disposable body into an opposing edict effect while its power scales quickly from dead creatures and planeswalkers. It is especially appealing in Commander sacrifice shells, but is less reliable in competitive Constructed because opponents choose what to sacrifice and Winter has no evasion or immediate value without a sacrifice target. For pure removal, **Sheoldred’s Edict** is generally better: it costs only two mana, works at instant speed, does not require sacrificing your own permanent, and can hit creatures, planeswalkers, or battles; **Plaguecrafter** is also often better in sacrifice decks when you want every player forced to sacrifice or discard. Winter should see play as a synergistic role-player rath
