About Word of Seizing

Word of Seizing, Instant, designed by Vance Kovacs first released in Oct, 2006 in the set Time Spiral and was printed exactly in 5 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of C$ 0.16.

A deck that focuses on aggressive strategies and aims to quickly close out games would benefit from including Word of Seizing in its card pool. This card can provide a surprise burst of tempo by untapping a key permanent and gaining control of it, potentially swinging the game in the player's favor. While there may be other cards that offer similar effects, Word of Seizing's split second ability can catch opponents off guard and prevent them from responding, making it a strong contender for inclusion in decks looking to seize victory swiftly.

Rules

03/19/21

If the resolution of a triggered ability involves casting a spell, that spell can’t be cast if a spell with split second is on the stack.

03/19/21

Players still get priority while a card with split second is on the stack; their options are just limited to mana abilities and certain special actions.

03/19/21

Split second doesn’t stop triggered abilities from triggering, such as that of Chalice of the Void. If one does, its controller puts it on the stack and chooses targets for it, if any. Those abilities will resolve as normal.

06/07/13

Casting a spell with split second won’t affect spells and abilities that are already on the stack.
