A deck that focuses on sacrificing creatures for value, such as a sacrifice or reanimator deck, would benefit from using Xathrid Demon. While it can be a powerful finisher, there are better cards like Grave Titan or Massacre Wurm that provide more immediate impact or value. Xathrid Demon could see play in a specific build that can consistently sacrifice creatures, but it may not be a top-tier choice in competitive Magic: the Gathering formats.
