A deck that focuses on land denial or land destruction strategies would benefit from using Dirtcowl Wurm, as it can quickly grow in power by punishing opponents for playing lands. However, there are better options available, such as Scavenging Ooze, which not only grows in size but also provides graveyard hate and life gain. While Dirtcowl Wurm could see play in a specific land-focused deck, it may not be the most optimal choice compared to other cards with similar effects and additional utility.
