A deck that focuses on gaining life and then losing life strategically, such as a lifegain/lifeloss deck, would benefit from using First Response. This card can provide a steady stream of 1/1 white Soldier creature tokens if you can consistently trigger the lifeloss condition. However, there are potentially better cards for this type of strategy, such as Suture Priest or Blood Artist, which offer more immediate or versatile benefits. Whether First Response should see play depends on the specific synergies and strategies of the deck in question.
