This card would be beneficial in a deck that focuses on -1/-1 counter synergy, such as a Black-Green Infect deck or a Golgari -1/-1 counter strategy. While Blowfly Infestation has its niche uses, a more versatile and powerful option would be Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons, as it not only creates -1/-1 counters but also generates snake tokens, providing more value and board presence. When Blowfly Infestation’s ability resolves, it will put a single -1/-1 counter on the targeted creature. It doesn’t matter how many -1/-1 counters were on the creature that went to a graveyard as long as it had at least one on it.
