About Scute Swarm

A landfall-themed deck would greatly benefit from including Scute Swarm, as it can quickly generate a swarm of powerful insect tokens. However, there are potentially better cards for this strategy, such as Avenger of Zendikar, which creates a larger number of tokens in one go. Scute Swarm could still see play in a landfall deck for its incremental token generation and potential for explosive growth with six or more lands.

If Scute Swarm leaves the battlefield before its triggered ability resolves, the token will still enter the battlefield as a copy of Scute Swarm, using Scute Swarm’s copiable values from when it was last on the battlefield.
