**Spaceshift** would fit best in a blue-based tempo or midrange deck that wants to reuse enter-the-battlefield (ETB) effects—like blinking creatures such as *Mulldrifter*, *Reflector Mage*, or *Skyclave Apparition*—while also protecting a creature or artifact from removal at instant speed; it could also have niche use in +1/+1 counter synergies or artifact value shells. However, it competes with more efficient or flexible blink spells like **Ephemerate** (cheaper and rebounds for extra value), **Momentary Blink** (has flashback), **Essence Flux** (only one mana and synergizes with Spirits), and especially **Teferi’s Time Twist**, which protects and guarantees the return at end step with a counter for just 1U.
