Een deck dat zich richt op mana-ramp en kleurfixatie, zoals een meerkleurig controle- of ramp-deck, zou baat hebben bij het gebruik van Glittering Frost in Magic: the Gathering. Terwijl Glittering Frost extra mana van welke kleur dan ook levert wanneer het betoverde land wordt aangeboord, zijn er betere kaarten zoals Utopia Sprawl of Fertile Ground die vergelijkbare effecten bieden met minder beperkende kleurvereisten. Glittering Frost zou spel kunnen zien in specifieke decks met een sneeuwthema, maar over het algemeen zijn er efficiëntere opties beschikbaar voor mana-versnelling en kleurfixatie.
