Act of Authority would be beneficial in a white control deck that focuses on removing key artifacts or enchantments from the opponent's board. While it provides a recurring removal effect, it can also be a double-edged sword if the opponent gains control of it. However, there are more efficient options like Banishing Light or Oblivion Ring that offer similar effects without the risk of losing control of the enchantment, making them better choices for competitive play.

For either ability, if you are the only player who controls an artifact or enchantment, you must choose one of them as the target. However, you may choose to not exile it when the ability resolves.
