This card, Biting Tether, would be beneficial in a control deck that aims to weaken and control opponent's creatures. However, there are better options available such as Control Magic or Treachery, which offer more control over the opponent's creatures without the drawback of -1/-1 counters. Biting Tether may not see much play in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks due to its high cost and limited effectiveness compared to other similar cards.
