About Determined
Determined, Instant, designed by Jim Nelson first released in May, 2020 in the set Dissension. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 478.88.
Determined would be particularly beneficial in a control or combo deck that relies on resolving key spells without the threat of counterspells, allowing you to execute your strategy more effectively. While there are other cards that provide similar effects, such as Veil of Summer, which also protects your spells and offers card draw against blue and black spells, Determined's instant speed and ability to draw a card make it a solid choice. Given its utility in specific matchups, it could see play in decks that prioritize spell resolution and card advantage, especially in formats where counterspells are prevalent.

After Determined resolves, any spells or abilities that would counter a spell you control that turn will still resolve. They just won’t counter that spell.

The creature is sacrificed when Bound resolves. It’s not an additional cost. It’s not optional. If you can’t sacrifice a creature or a colorless creature is sacrificed, no cards are returned.
