A blue control deck that focuses on tempo and disruption would benefit from including Hypnotic Pattern in its deck, as it can be used to weaken opponent's creatures and slow down their game plan. However, there are better cards available, such as Vapor Snag which can outright return a creature to its owner's hand and provide more immediate disruption. Overall, while Hypnotic Pattern can be situationally useful, it may not see as much play in competitive decks compared to more versatile and impactful options.
