A deck focused on controlling the opponent's resources and information would benefit from using Illusionary Informant, as it provides valuable insight into the upcoming cards being drafted. However, in a competitive setting, there are likely better options available such as cards that directly impact the game board or provide more consistent card advantage. While the ability to peek at a drafted card can be useful in certain situations, the overall impact of Illusionary Informant may not be strong enough to justify including it in a deck.

Once a player has put a card into their pile of drafted cards, it’s too late to turn Illusionary Informant face down to look at that card. As a courtesy, you should alert the player as soon as they are passed the booster pack.
