This card would be beneficial in a mono-black deck that focuses on casting a lot of creature spells, as it reduces the colored mana cost of those spells. However, there are better cards like Herald's Horn or Urza's Incubator that provide more consistent cost reduction for creature spells across all colors, making them more versatile options. Nekrataal Avatar could see play in specific mono-black creature-heavy decks, but may not be as impactful in a more diverse deck.
