Old Man of the Sea, Creature — djinn, designed by Susan Van Camp first released in Dec, 1993 in the set Arabian Nights and was printed exactly in 3 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 39027.16.
This card could be beneficial in a control deck that focuses on manipulating and stealing opponent's creatures. While Old Man of the Sea has its unique charm with the ability to steal creatures, there are more efficient options like Control Magic or Treachery that provide similar effects without the restriction of staying tapped. However, for a thematic or casual deck, Old Man of the Sea could still see play for its nostalgic value and quirky gameplay interactions.

The ability doesn’t care whether Old Man of the Sea remains under your control, only that Old Man of the Sea remains tapped and its power remains large enough. If an opponent gains control of Old Man of the Sea, you’ll keep control of the affected creature (until Old Man of the Sea stops being tapped or it no longer has enough power).
10/04/04
You lose control of the creature if the Old Man leaves the battlefield. This is because it is no longer tapped.
