About Phantasmal Form

Phantasmal Form, Instant, designed by Steve Argyle first released in Jun, 2019 in the set Modern Horizons and was printed exactly in 3 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 6.18.

A deck focused on tempo and disruption, such as a blue control or tempo deck, would benefit from using Phantasmal Form as it can provide a temporary power boost and evasion to key creatures while also replacing itself by drawing a card. However, cards like Aether Adept or Reflector Mage may be better options for similar effects as they offer more permanent solutions or additional utility. Phantasmal Form could see play as a situational one-of in decks looking for a temporary power boost and evasion.

Phantasmal Form overwrites all previous effects that set the target creatures’ power and toughness to specific values. Other effects that set their power or toughness to specific values that start to apply after Phantasmal Form resolves will overwrite this effect.

You may cast Phantasmal Form without choosing any target creatures. You’ll just draw a card. However, if you choose any targets and all of those targets become illegal before the spell tries to resolve, the spell won’t resolve and you won’t draw a card.
