A deck that aims to have access to both green and blue mana early in the game, such as a Simic (green-blue) tempo or control deck, would benefit from using Breeding Pool. While there are other dual lands that may be more efficient in some situations, Breeding Pool's flexibility and ability to provide both colors of mana without entering the battlefield tapped can make it a strong inclusion in decks that require both green and blue mana sources. Unlike most dual lands, this land has two basic land types. It’s not basic, so cards such as District Guide can’t find it, but it does have the appropriate land types for effects such as that of Drowned Catacomb (from the Ixalan set).
