This Deeproot Elite card would be a great addition to a Merfolk tribal deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it synergizes well with other Merfolk creatures by providing a consistent source of +1/+1 counters. While there may be other cards that offer similar effects or better value in certain situations, Deeproot Elite's low casting cost and ability to quickly grow your Merfolk creatures make it a strong contender for inclusion in such a deck.
