A deck that focuses on disrupting the opponent's strategy and hand advantage would benefit from including Duress. While Duress is a solid choice for targeted discard, more competitive decks might opt for Thoughtseize, which allows you to choose any card at the cost of 2 life, or Inquisition of Kozilek, which can target any nonland card without restrictions. Duress can still see play in decks that require a lower mana cost option for hand disruption.
