About Face Yourself

Face Yourself, Sorcery, designed by Jack Hughes first released in September 2026 in the set Reality Fracture and was printed exactly in 3 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of NZ$ 0.45.

Face Yourself would best fit a red Commander deck built around planeswalkers, mana ramp, and powerful creature-based enters-the-battlefield effects, because controlling a planeswalker lets the copied creatures survive beyond the end step; it can also be a strong finisher when copying an opponent’s board, especially if their creatures have valuable abilities. However, seven mana and sorcery speed make it unreliable, and the planeswalker requirement is a significant deck-building restriction: `Insurrection` is generally better as an immediate game-ending finisher because it steals all opposing creatures, gives them haste, and does not require a planeswalker, while `Clone Legion` is better if the goal is to keep permanent copies, though it costs more and requires black. Face Yourself is probably too expensive and conditional for competitive formats, but it could see play in casual Commander, particularly in a red planeswalker or copy-themed deck where its token-survival clause can be expl

Rules

08/21/2026

Any enters abilities of the copied creature will trigger when the token enters the battlefield. Any "as [this permanent] enters" or "[this permanent] enters with" abilities of the copied creature will also work.

08/21/2026

If the copied creature has {X} in its mana cost, X is considered to be 0.

08/21/2026

If the copied creature is a token, the token created by Face Yourself copies the original characteristics of that token as stated by the effect that put that token onto the battlefield.

08/21/2026

If the copied creature is copying something else (for example, if the copied creature is a Clone), then the token enters the battlefield as whatever that creature copied.

08/21/2026

The tokens copy exactly what was printed on the original creature, with the listed exceptions, and nothing else (unless that permanent is copying something else or is a token; see below). It doesn't copy whether that creature is tapped or untapped, whether it has any counters on it or Auras and Equipment attached to it, or any non-copy effects that have changed its power, toughness, types, color, and so on.

08/21/2026

The tokens see each other enter the battlefield. If any of them have a triggered ability that triggers whenever a creature enters, they'll trigger for one another.
