About Mana Drain

Mana Drain, Instant, designed by Mark Tedin first released in May, 2020 in the set Legends and was printed exactly in 15 different ways. It see play in 2 formats: Commander and Vintage. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of NZ$ 46.50.

A control deck focused on disrupting the opponent's spells and generating extra mana would benefit from using Mana Drain in Magic: the Gathering. While Mana Drain is a powerful card for ramping up mana advantage, some players may prefer more versatile options like Force of Will or Counterspell for their lower casting cost and broader applications, depending on the specific strategy of the deck. However, Mana Drain can still be a strong choice in certain situations, especially in decks looking to capitalize on the extra mana it provides.

Rules

11/10/20

If the target spell is an illegal target by the time Mana Drain tries to resolve, Mana Drain doesn’t resolve. You don’t add mana at the beginning of your next main phase. If the target is legal but not countered (most likely because an effect says that the spell can’t be countered), you do add mana.
