**Run Behind** is a tempo-oriented blue card that fits best in a tempo or control deck that wants to disrupt combat while maintaining mana efficiency, particularly in formats where attacking creatures are central to the metagame. Its cost reduction against attacking creatures makes it strongest in reactive, draw‑go style decks that can hold up mana and punish aggression, functioning as a pseudo-removal spell that denies both board presence and draw steps if placed on top. However, it competes with significantly stronger and more flexible options such as **Into the Roil**, **Fading Hope**, **Brazen Borrower**, **Resculpt**, or especially **Aetherize** in anti-aggro shells; even **Memory Lapse**-style effects or hard removal like **Ravenform** often provide better tempo or permanent answers.
