This card would be beneficial in a red aggressive deck that focuses on casting multiple spells to trigger its Heroic ability and gain control of opponent's creatures for a turn, creating tempo swings and potential lethal attacks. However, in a competitive setting, there are better options like Zealous Conscripts which has a similar effect but at a lower cost and with more immediate impact, making it a more viable choice for decks looking to utilize this type of effect consistently. Akroan Conscriptor may not see much play in high-level competitive decks due to its higher mana cost and slower activation compared to other options available.
