Bubble Snare, Enchantment — aura, designed by Jakub Kasper first released in Sep, 2020 in the set Zendikar Rising and was printed exactly in 2 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 0.02.
Bubble Snare is particularly effective in control or tempo decks that aim to disrupt opponents' creatures while maintaining board presence, as it can effectively immobilize a key threat for multiple turns if kicked. Decks that utilize blue's strengths in card draw and manipulation can benefit greatly from this enchantment, especially in formats where creature-based strategies are prevalent. While there are alternatives like Frost Titan or Detention Sphere that can provide similar control effects with added versatility, Bubble Snare's low cost and kicker ability make it a solid choice in specific scenarios. Overall, it should see play in the right context, especially in casual or midrange formats where creature control is crucial.
09/25/20
An ability that triggers when a player casts a kicked spell resolves before the spell that caused it to trigger, but after targets have been chosen for that spell. It resolves even if that spell is countered.
09/25/20
If you put a permanent with a kicker ability onto the battlefield without casting it, you can’t kick it.
09/25/20
Kicker represents an optional additional cost that you may choose to pay as you cast the spell. A spell cast with that additional cost paid is “kicked.”
09/25/20
To determine a spell’s total cost, start with the mana cost (or an alternative cost if another card’s effect allows you to pay one instead), add any cost increases (such as kicker), then apply any cost reductions. The converted mana cost of the spell is determined only by its mana cost, no matter what the total cost to cast the spell was.
