**Expansive Reapplication** would fit best in a Simic (G/U) ramp-control or “big mana” deck that can reliably generate large amounts of mana, since the card scales with X and rewards you for countering expensive spells while simultaneously developing your board; it’s especially appealing in Commander, where high-mana-value spells are common and conjuring a random creature with equal mana value can swing tempo dramatically. However, its randomness makes it inconsistent compared to more reliable options like **Mystic Confluence**, **Sublime Epiphany**, or even **Frilled Mystic**, which provide guaranteed value, and traditional counters like **Mana Drain** (which also ramps you) or **Cryptic Command** often offer stronger competitive utility.
