**Hostile Takeover** fits best in aggressive or tempo-combo decks that can exploit a sudden, temporary swing—especially lists that capitalize on *enter combat* triggers, on-attack effects, sacrifice/value engines, or lethal pushes by stealing a key defender and either forcing an unfavorable combat or converting the unit into immediate advantage before it gets recalled. It’s particularly strong in midrange tempo builds that can float the 5-cost turn and threaten Hidden activation to punish overextension, and in decks that benefit from surprise battlefield swings or conquest triggers.
