Lay Bare, Instant, designed by Chippy first released in Apr, 2010 in the set Rise of the Eldrazi. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of ₱ 20.55.
A control deck that focuses on disrupting the opponent's game plan and gaining information about their hand would benefit from using Lay Bare. While Lay Bare is a solid card for its cost, there are arguably better options like Counterspell or Mana Leak that provide more immediate and versatile spell counter abilities. However, Lay Bare could still see play in specific metagames where hand disruption is crucial, but it may not be a staple in most competitive decks.

If the targeted spell is an illegal target by the time Lay Bare resolves, Lay Bare doesn’t resolve. You won’t look at its controller’s hand.
