**Eternal Student** is a 1G 2/1 Human Monk from the Art Series that lets you return a card from your graveyard to your hand when it enters the battlefield, making it best suited for midrange or graveyard-recursion decks that value card advantage and reuse of key spells—especially in formats where grindy games matter. However, it competes directly with **Eternal Witness**, which does the same thing but with better stats (2/1 for 1GG and broader format legality history) and is widely considered the superior option due to its established power level and synergy in combo, toolbox, and value decks.
