Merfolk Raiders would fit well in a blue tempo or merfolk tribal deck, where the goal is to control the board while applying pressure with evasive creatures. Its islandwalk ability makes it particularly effective in matchups against decks that rely on Islands, while phasing can provide strategic advantages by avoiding removal spells. However, there are arguably better options like Curiosity or Merfolk Trickster, which can provide more utility or disruption. Overall, while Merfolk Raiders can be fun and synergistic in the right build, it may not be a top-tier choice in competitive play.
