About Boldwyr Aggressor

Boldwyr Aggressor, Creature — giant warrior, designed by Aaron Miller first released in Jan, 2026 in the set Lorwyn Eclipsed.

Boldwyr Aggressor fits best in a **casual or tribal Giant deck**, especially in Commander, where you can take advantage of its static ability granting **double strike to all other Giants you control**, turning already large creatures into major damage threats. In a dedicated Giant tribal build (such as under commanders like Kalemne, Iroas, or even newer Giant-focused commanders), it can function as a finisher if you already have a board presence. However, at **five mana for a 4/4 with no built‑in protection or immediate impact**, it is generally underpowered by modern standards. Cards like **Calamity Bearer** (which doubles Giant damage), **Sunrise Sovereign** (gives Giants +2/+2 and trample), or **Inferno Titan** provide stronger impact for similar or less investment. Even **Angrath's Marauders** can be more explosive in red-based decks. Overall, Boldwyr Aggressor is flavorful and playable in casual Giant tribal builds, but it is not competitive and would not typically see play outsid
