The Magic Online team announced this Thursday (6th) an update featuring two new shortcuts aimed at executing repetitive combos, especially in Commander multiplayer games. The changes, described as "game-changing" by the company, were developed based on feedback from influencers in the CEDH (competitive Commander) scene and aim to reduce the number of clicks required to execute complex loops within tournament time limits. The first shortcut, called "Always Target This Name", allows players to automatically set the target for repeated triggers. The feature applies to classic combos such as the interaction between Felidar Guardian and Restoration Angel, where the two exile and return each other indefinitely. By right-clicking a trigger, players can select the "Always target this name" option and choose the target card. With autoyields configured, the loop repeats for about one minute without requiring manual intervention. The system also works with Saheeli Rai in place of Restoration Angel, although it requires an additional click to activate the planeswalker's -2 ability. The same feature applies to combos such as Splinter Twin with Pestermite or Deceiver Exarch and Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker. In the case of Deceiver Exarch, which involves a modal choice, the system automatically saves the "Untap" option and the target. The shortcut can also be used in direct-damage combos, such as Murderous Redcap, Melira, Sylvok Outcast, and Carrion Feeder, where players can direct damage at an opponent with minimal clicks. In multiplayer games, after eliminating a player, autoyields need to be reconfigured for the next target. The second shortcut, "1-Click Mana from Multicolor Producers", allows players to set the color of mana generated automatically by sources that produce multiple colors, such as Treasures, Noble Hierarch, and Signets. By right-clicking a Treasure and selecting "... and always add [X] from sources named Treasure Token", players set the default color. From that point on, each activated Treasure produces the same color with a single click. The feature also works with other multicolored mana sources, but not with lands that produce multiple combinations, such as Triomes, or creatures that produce multiple mana at once, such as Smokebraider. The shortcuts can be disabled at any time using the 5 key (remove all autoyields) or by clearing the saved choices on the permanent itself. The Magic Online team stated that it will continue working on improvements, including the ability to spend mana more quickly, especially when the mana type is not relevant. The announcement emphasizes that the changes will benefit both Commander multiplayer and 60-card 1v1 play, making combo execution faster and reducing player strain against the clock.Source: MTGO.com
