Wizards of the Coast will open a new ordering window for Secret Lair x MSCHF: The Zeta Set after problems disrupted the original sale. The opportunity will last 24 hours on December 9, and all orders placed during that period will be fulfilled.

This new batch is expected to ship in the second half of 2027. The company did not specify a year for the new ordering window in its announcement.

Matthew Hodgins, Secret Lair manager, released the findings of the investigation into the incident and took responsibility for the decision to pause the pre-order queue. A disruption in the back-end system caused the queue to be suspended while the issue was investigated. As the team reorganized the orders that had accumulated during that period, it discovered that the available product had already sold out.

As a result, customers spent hours waiting to place orders for a product that was no longer available. Hodgins described the experience as frustrating and apologized to those who waited only to be unable to purchase the set, acknowledging the anger caused by the situation.

The new sale was planned to give affected fans another opportunity. The 24-hour limited ordering window also means that orders placed during this period will not be subject to the inventory originally made available: all orders will be fulfilled, with shipping scheduled for 2027.

Anyone who managed to purchase The Zeta Set in the first offering will keep the original schedule. Orders will ship on November 5 in the United States and December 8 in Europe. Customers who changed their minds because of the changes may cancel their orders.

Secret Lair x MSCHF: The Zeta Set features reprints of sought-after Magic: The Gathering cards with alternate artwork developed by the MSCHF collective.
