A mass leak involving the Magic: The Gathering collaboration with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles marred the pre-release period of Lorwyn Eclipsed. During pre-release events for the new set, dozens of kits arrived in stores with the slot intended for the foil promo card filled with cards from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, scheduled for release on March 6th.

The issue came to light after players and retailers identified that the kits did not contain the correct Lorwyn Eclipsed promo card. Instead, the material included cards linked to the collaboration with the Nickelodeon franchise, unintentionally anticipating content that should remain unreleased until the official preview season.

In response, Wizards of the Coast issued an official statement on BlueSky. The company acknowledged the reports of pre-release kits containing foil promos from an incorrect set and stated that the situation was unintentional. According to the guidelines, stores should, whenever possible, replace the incorrect cards with the correct Lorwyn Eclipsed promo cards, using other available kits.

If there are not enough kits available, Wizards of the Coast has stated that players can participate in the event using the incorrect cards. The company also recommended that stores contact their WPN representatives for further guidance on how to proceed.
