IntroductionThe last set of the year is finally out. Reality Fracture closes the current story arc and brings Jace Beleren's story to an end after 2 decades as one of the main characters in the multiverse. This set is also a collection of references to iconic characters, moments, and cards from the game, redesigned through Jace's "ideal" world. It includes versions in different colors and a "what if" angle that some fans have been waiting for since War of the Spark ended.Modern has remained stable throughout the year, and it doesn't seem like that will change before the end of 2026. Despite having one of the best designs among recent releases, Reality Fracture does not seem to have what it takes to affect the current status quo. That does not mean, however, that it didn't bring us some interesting additions.WhiteWhile most lifegain decks have either stopped being competitive or shifted closer to the combo spectrum, Boros Energy may have an open card-advantage slot that can take advantage of Enlightened Confidant more consistently than other cards in this category. It does not look like an automatic staple, but it is worth a try. There are a few interactions between Nourishing Shoal and Germinate Recruits that give you an instant win on the opponent’s End Step. You only need to exile a creature such as Worldspine Wurm to pay for Shoal, then cast Germinate to have an army of tokens ready to attack on your turn.It looks inconsistent, but it is a new way to take advantage of a synergy that already exists.BlueStorm has been predominantly Mono-Red since Modern Horizons 3, and there is no reason to try splashing blue. If we ever return to Izzet, Geist of Saint Thalia is an excellent way to discount costs. Please note that she discounts the cost of all noncreature spells, including 1-mana artifacts. This could become a staple. A Seasoned Pyromancer that can be used to pay for Force of Negation is an important addition to Living End. Cryomancer is also a Wizard for Flame of Anor, can discard pieces we want in the graveyard in Reanimator lists, and may even be worth a try in less synergistic builds thanks to its first ability (which lets you rearrange your hand when it enters) and because it can create card advantage from the graveyard.BlackLike lifegain lists, Sacrifice lists are too combo-focused to want Darklight Phoenix, but this mythic card deserves a mention because of Arclight Phoenix’s history. Furthermore, Buried Alive is in the format as well as more practical ways to put copies in the graveyard in a single turn compared with other formats.Although it is not as consistent as it is in Legacy, Spy Combo is viable in Modern and one of the few combos in which you can use Extrapolate the Impossible as a toolbox card that consistently finds what you need. All you need is a copy of Balustrade Spy and Undercity Informer in the sideboard.Other than that, we might get the opportunity to make our sideboard slots more diverse occasionally, but this does not look like a Modern staple.RedAlthough the days of Snapcaster Mage are behind us, I have to mention that Stingcaster Mage is worth a shot in Burn, an archetype that, like Stingcaster’s design, also seems to be stuck in the 2010s. It still performs well occasionally, particularly in Leagues or smaller tournaments.GreenNo green card from Reality Fracture appears to have potential in Modern.MulticoloredSpell Pierce and Collective Brutality still occasionally see play in Dimir Frog and Esper Goryo, more specifically in flex slots. Theorix Charm has Brutality’s most popular mode and is as versatile as Spell Pierce for one additional mana. At worst, it refills your hand and fuels the graveyard.ColorlessIt is difficult to analyze how this new Emrakul will fit into Eldrazi and Tron decks today. Perhaps the most important part is its Ward ability, which forces players to sacrifice permanents. It is probably more relevant than the usual protection Eldrazi Titans often plays in a world of Solitude.Untapping all lands is not as impactful as other cast triggers, and I am not sure whether Eldrazi is really willing to pay to turn one more land into a Sol Land, or whether it would rather get more mana through other, more practical means. The downside to not playing this new card is that it would double as a threat as well.Karn, Argent Defender is worth a try in Karn, the Great Creator toolbox slots, or even in lists that use Formidable Speaker. Unlike Torpor Orb, this new creature also shuts down ETB effects on artifacts, such as Kappa Cannoneer's and Weapons Manufacturing's.In ConclusionWhat do you think?
