Monster Tron has emerged as a serious contender after winning the Circuito LigaMagic de Pauper, a tournament at LigaFest that drew 308 players across two days. Since then, the archetype has become one of the most talked about on Brazilian social media, with a clear increase in both League and Challenge appearances. PFP member Alexandre Weber even won one of the events with an 8‑1 record. This is Tron in its most "pure" form. It drops the famous Ghostly Flicker loops and the Lock‑Control plan in favor of ramping, and, once the land combination is assembled, you drop bomb after bomb, making it more proactive and capable of closing games in just a few turns. The DecklistMaindeckThe primary goal of the list is the classic "1 + 1 + 1 = 7" by getting all three Urza lands into play as early as possible. Unlike other variants, we have more flexibility since we do not need much colored mana or mana fixers to cast our bombs, so assembling Tron is the priority. To find the lands, we run Expedition Map and Crop Rotation to fetch the right pieces, and Ancient Stirrings digs deep for a colorless card, whether another land or one of our bombs.Bombs include Maelstrom Colossus as the primary target. Its Cascade ability is a lottery which can hit anything from a second creature to an Expedition Map you no longer need, but a 7/7 on turn four that brings another spell along is a headache for many archetypes.Bramble Wurm is possibly the other reason this deck exists. Besides its evasive body and being a valid Cascade hit, we can exile it from the graveyard to gain life and buy extra time over the course of the game.Boulderbranch Golem is flexible if we do not assemble Tron early and can provide a significant life buffer against Aggro decks in the early turns.Generous Ent finds the Forests for Ancient Stirrings and Crop Rotation, or Wooded Ridgeline for Breath Weapon, while also providing a powerful Reach body that helps hold off White Weenie and Faeries.Pinnacle Kill-Ship is the ideal Cascade target for Maelstrom Colossus. Besides dealing with any creature on board, the ship can also become a threat by tapping just a Colossus or a combination of our smaller creatures.Rooftop Percher is a flex slot, but a welcome one. It offers both essential graveyard hate against Sneaky Snacker and the like, and life gain in the same card, while the 3/3 Flying body holds off Aggro for a turn or two.We also need card advantage and mana filtering. Bonder's Ornament provides both. A full set seems ideal for Tron, although some lists run only two.Barrels of Blasting Jelly filters mana once per turn and doubles as spot removal in the late game, while Prophetic Prism replaces itself in its owner's hand.Breath Weapon clears the board of smaller creatures. Necessary against Red Rally, Elves, and White Weenie. It is our only way to handle multiple threats with a single card in Game 1.The flex lands. Crop Rotation into Bojuka Bog is a must in the current Metagame. Conduit Pylons filters mana while also clearing the top of a bad draw, and Tocasia's Dig Site can be reused each turn to smooth out the late game.SideboardTo hold off Aggro, we have more sweepers in the Sideboard with Breath Weapon and one copy of Fiery Cannonade. Monstrous Emergence comes in against the mirror and in matches where we need to answer specific threats before they take over. For grindy matches, a Disturbed Burial on Maelstrom Colossus will bury the opponent in card advantage. Failing that, having a repeatable way to fetch any creature from the graveyard wins Midrange and Control games with ease.Whispersilk Cloak protects a creature and makes it unblockable. Excellent against Midrange.Relic of Progenitus as a full set holds off Blue Terror, Spy Combo, Madness Burn, and various other archetypes that have some graveyard interaction and can go under Tron.Coalition Honor Guard protects us from at least two damage spells or a Galvanic Blast. Ideal against any red Aggro variant in the format today.Vandalize comes in against the mirror and Affinity, guaranteeing two‑for‑one trades at a cost that is less taxing on our mana base.Sideboard GuideMono Blue TerrorINOUTMono Red MadnessINOUTGrixis AffinityINOUTElvesINOUTJund WildfireINOUTRed RallyINOUTFaeriesINOUTMonster TronINOUTWrapping UpThat's all for today! If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment! Thanks for reading!
