Selesnya Offense is the latest variant of Badgermole Cub decks in Standard and has been making waves even in Pioneer. It consists of the combination of mana dorks and Cub for fast mana, but instead of capitalizing on Nature's Rhythm, it focuses on powerful individual threats and sequencing Practiced Offense with our creatures to explode in power on board. The DecklistMaindeckThis is a Badgermole Cub deck, but we are not trying to go for the "go big" plan with Nature's Rhythm and Craterhoof Behemoth. Instead, we use mana dorks to sequence plays on the same turn and generate short‑ and medium‑term value, making us less dependent on extra mana.We also lean less into the "go wide" plan with Ouroboroid in favor of individually powerful creatures.Surrak, Elusive Hunter has moved from the Sideboard to the maindeck due to the high interactivity of the current Metagame, with Jeskai Control/Lessons, Izzet Prowess, and Spellementals as the main competitors.Leatherhead, Swamp Stalker also benefits from a highly interactive Metagame with a hard-to-kill body. The wide number of artifacts and enchantments in decks today also makes it effective hate in Game 1.We complement this plan with a small Brightglass Gearhulk toolbox, including Seam Rip to handle cheap permanents and Meltstrider's Resolve as efficient removal against larger creatures.Practiced Offense was the reason we cut down on the number of Ouroboroid copies. Besides increasing all creatures' power, it turns into an Embercleave with Leatherhead, Swamp Stalker or Surrak, Elusive Hunter, or provides significant life gain against other Aggro or Prowess decks.Jennifer Walters was the most recent inclusion from Marvel Super Heroes and shuts down interaction on our turn early in the game or turns into another efficient win condition in longer games.Bushwhack adds to board interaction while guaranteeing the land drop of the turn early in the game.Abandoned Air Temple complements the "go wide" line as the game goes longer and provides another use for extra mana during the turn. Ba Sing Se turns lands into creatures each turn. Together, the two can dominate the battlefield and increase board pressure in Aggro mirrors.SideboardThe rest of the Brightglass Gearhulk toolbox.Soul-Guide Lantern comes in against graveyard‑based decks like Spellementals or Excruciator. It also comes in against Jeskai Control/Lessons to slow down Accumulate Wisdom or Flashback.Meltstrider's Resolve adds to board interaction in Aggro mirrors. Insidious Fungus is a one‑of I like to have against Lessons, especially since players on the ladder still insist quite a bit on the version with Monument to Endurance and Artist's Talent. The anti‑Aggro package. Erode is still one of the best unconditional removal spells in the format, and Sheltered by Ghosts holds off Aggro's clock for a few turns, especially on a larger threat.Rest in Peace adds to graveyard hate against Spellementals, Lessons, and Excruciator, while Elspeth, Storm Slayer comes in both against Control as a late‑game threat and in Aggro mirrors to increase our board advantage and enable potential instant wins by granting Flying to a full board.Dawn's Truce protects our creatures from sweepers and removal that cause two‑for‑one trades.
