UPDATE: The retailer later published through Discord that the set's listings are for the sole purpose of optimizing SEO (Search Engine Optimization) results.

“We paused the preorders- didn't expect you guys to buy these so fast! We hid these in the site like we've done in the past for rumors to bribe Google to like us. No one found the nicktoons MTG set though!”

A store in the United States may have revealed a new line of Magic: The Gathering merchandise in partnership with the Star Trek franchise ahead of schedule. The items were posted on the preorder section of the retailer's website and indicate the launch of a full expansion within the Universes Beyond line, focused on collaborations with other pop culture brands.

Among the products listed were Play Boosters, Collector Boosters, Bundles, and four Commander decks, following the same distribution model as the game's complete sets. While there is no official confirmation from Wizards of the Coast at this time, the presence of the entire set structure suggests that the Star Trek expansion will receive similar treatment to previous collaborations, such as The Lord of the Rings and Final Fantasy.

When added to the cart, the products displayed the estimated shipping date as September 30th, 2026. Interestingly, the same store also indicates that the Secrets of Strixhaven set will be shipped on June 23rd. Both cases caught the attention, especially because they suggest release windows that have not yet been announced by Hasbro.

Reddit users quickly spotted the leak and retrieved the store's history, which had previously listed unannounced Magic: The Gathering products before the official reveal. Following the post on social media, the Star Trek items were removed from the store's website.
The possibility of a partnership between Magic and Star Trek has been circulating in the community for over a year. In 2024, an image of an alleged test card for the sci-fi franchise was leaked, reigniting discussions about a collaboration. The series is currently one of the main properties of Paramount Global, a conglomerate that also owns the brands Avatar: The Last Airbender and SpongeBob — both of which have already been announced as partnerships with Magic throughout 2025.

So far, neither Wizards of the Coast nor Paramount have commented on the case.
