Wizards of the Coast said supplies of Reality Fracturelink outside website Play Boosters may be tighter than expected in North America in the weeks following the set’s October 2 release. The disruption was caused by drought at a freshwater lake in Panama that supplies the Panama Canal, reducing water levels and creating a bottleneck along the waterway. One of the affected vessels is carrying some of the Play Boosters intended for the region.

According to the official announcement, most stores and players should not notice any issues during Prerelease weekend (September 25 to October 1) or even release weekend. However, Play Booster stock may sell out more quickly than usual after the release date. The company expects supplies to be replenished within a few weeks of Reality Fracture’s release.

Wizards said the issue affects Play Boosters only. All other Reality Fracture products, including Collector Boosters, Commander Decks and other items, remain on schedule and should not be delayed. The company said it will update the announcement if there are any changes to the schedule.

Reality Fracture is the next Magic: The Gathering set to feature an original Multiverse storyline, and is scheduled for worldwide release on October 2, 2026. The expansion explores an alternate reality created by Jace Beleren, known as the “Echoverse.”
