Strategy

Jodah, Archmage Eternal is a fantastic commander in a five-color deck in Commander format. The deck revolves around using Jodah's ability to cast spells for WUBRG (one of each color) instead of their actual mana costs. This allows you to cheat out big, impactful spells much earlier than normal. This deck is all about ramping quickly to get Jodah out as soon as possible and then casting powerful spells like Omniscience, Conflux, or Genesis Ultimatum for a fraction of their mana cost. With cards like Fist of Suns and Chromatic Lantern to help fix your mana, you can reliably cast any spell in your deck with Jodah's ability. The good points of this deck include its explosive plays and ability to surprise your opponents with massive spells much earlier than they would expect. Cards like Sunbird's Invocation and Maelstrom Archangel can generate huge value if left unchecked. Additionally, having access to all five colors of mana means you have access to some of the most powerful spells in Magic. However, the bad points of this deck include its susceptibility to disruption. Without Jodah on the battlefield, casting your big spells can be difficult due to their high mana costs. Cards like Rhystic Study and countermagic can also pose a problem if your opponents are able to disrupt your game plan. Additionally, the deck can be vulnerable to aggressive strategies if you don't draw the right cards early on. Overall, Jodah, Archmage Eternal is a fun and powerful commander that can lead to some explosive and memorable games. With the right ramp and protection, you can cast game-winning spells much earlier than your opponents can handle. Just be prepared to adapt to your opponents' strategies and always be ready for the unexpected!
