The lore centers on a cosmic anomaly that pulls the United Federation of Planets, the Klingon Empire, the Romulan Star Empire, and other civilizations into the Blind Eternities, forcing them to navigate unfamiliar planes while upholding—or abandoning—their core principles. Starfleet captains embody white and blue’s ideals of order and discovery, Klingons lean into red and black aggression and honor-driven combat, and Romulans use blue and black deception and political manipulation. Mechanically, the set introduces “Explore the Unknown,” a variant of explore that rewards players for seeking out new planets (represented by a new Space land subtype), along with “Diplomacy,” which creates temporary alliances that grant shared benefits until broken, and “Command,” a mechanic that enhances legendary creatures when they lead a diverse crew.
