Deprive would be beneficial in a control deck that aims to disrupt the opponent's strategy by countering key spells while also having ways to bounce lands for additional value. However, a more efficient alternative to consider would be Mana Leak, which only requires one blue mana and can counter a spell without the need to return a land. While Deprive could still see play in specific strategies that can take advantage of the land bouncing effect, overall, Mana Leak may be a more versatile and reliable choice for most control decks.
