About Desolation
Desolation, Enchantment, designed by George Pratt first released in May, 2020 in the set Visions. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 9.66.
Desolation would fit well in a control or stax-style deck that aims to disrupt opponents' mana bases while dealing incremental damage, particularly in formats where land destruction is viable. It synergizes with cards that encourage opponents to tap out for mana, making them vulnerable to sacrificing lands. However, there are arguably better options like Armageddon or Ruination, which can outright destroy lands without the conditionality of tapping for mana. While Desolation can be effective in specific strategies, its situational nature and potential drawback of also affecting the controller may limit its playability in competitive environments.
