About Harness by Force

Harness by Force, Sorcery, designed by Yefim Kligerman first released in May, 2014 in the set Journey into Nyx. It see play in 1 formats: Commander. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 4.21.

This card, Harness by Force, would benefit decks that focus on aggressive strategies and want to quickly overwhelm their opponent by stealing multiple creatures and attacking with them on the same turn. However, decks that are more focused on control or combo strategies may find this card less useful due to its high mana cost with Strive. There are better cards like Insurrection, which costs more mana but has a greater impact by stealing all creatures on the battlefield. Overall, Harness by Force could see play in certain aggressive red decks looking for a powerful tempo swing, but may not be a staple in every deck due to its limitations.

Rules

04/26/14

Harness by Force can target any creature, even one that’s untapped or one you already control.

04/26/14

If a spell or ability allows you to cast a strive spell without paying its mana cost, you must pay the additional costs for any targets beyond the first.

04/26/14

If all of the spell’s targets are illegal when the spell tries to resolve, it won’t resolve and none of its effects will happen. If one or more of its targets are legal when it tries to resolve, the spell will resolve and affect only those legal targets. It will have no effect on any illegal targets.

04/26/14

You choose how many targets each spell with a strive ability has and what those targets are as you cast it. It’s legal to cast such a spell with no targets, although this is rarely a good idea. You can’t choose the same target more than once for a single strive spell.
