Meanders Guide fits best in a white-based (or Azorius) Merfolk tribal deck that goes wide with cheap Merfolk and can consistently attack while leaving at least one untapped Merfolk to enable its trigger, especially in a midrange or grindy build that benefits from recurring low–mana value creatures with strong ETB effects (like Silvergill Adept–style draw creatures or utility Merfolk). It’s strongest in casual or Commander tribal shells where board presence and synergy matter more than raw efficiency, but in competitive formats it’s likely too slow and conditional, since it requires attacking, another untapped Merfolk, and a graveyard target to generate value. Compared to stronger recursion options like Lurrus of the Dream-Den (repeatable, less setup), Sun Titan (broader and immediate impact), or even general tribal payoffs like Merrow Reejerey that immediately boost board pressure, Meanders Guide is more build-around and less efficient. It could see play in dedicated Merfolk Commander
