About Phantasmal Form

Phantasmal Form, Instant, designed by Steve Argyle first released in Jun, 2019 in the set Modern Horizons and was printed exactly in 3 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 0.72.

Phantasmal Form would be particularly beneficial in a blue tempo or control deck that aims to disrupt opponents while maintaining board presence, as it can temporarily enhance your creatures and provide evasion with flying. However, there are other cards that might be more effective depending on the strategy, such as Sphinx's Revelation for card draw and life gain or Delver of Secrets for a more aggressive approach. While Phantasmal Form can provide a unique advantage and surprise factor, its situational nature and reliance on targeting creatures may limit its overall playability compared to more versatile options, making it a niche choice rather than a staple.

Phantasmal Form overwrites all previous effects that set the target creatures’ power and toughness to specific values. Other effects that set their power or toughness to specific values that start to apply after Phantasmal Form resolves will overwrite this effect.

You may cast Phantasmal Form without choosing any target creatures. You’ll just draw a card. However, if you choose any targets and all of those targets become illegal before the spell tries to resolve, the spell won’t resolve and you won’t draw a card.
