Pterafractyl would fit best in a Simic (green-blue) +1/+1 counters or ramp deck that can generate large amounts of mana, since its scalable X cost rewards you for ramping and it synergizes with counter-doubling effects like **Doubling Season**, **Hardened Scales**, or **Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider**; however, as designed it’s fairly underpowered compared to existing options—**Hydroid Krasis** is a clear superior comparison, as it also scales with X, flies, gains life, and draws cards while providing value even if removed, and **Sharktocrab** or **Voracious Hydra** offer stronger board impact for similar investment—so unless Pterafractyl is costed very aggressively or used in a casual counters-focused build, it likely wouldn’t see competitive play, though it could be perfectly serviceable in Commander or casual Simic ramp decks.
