This card, Quarum Trench Gnomes, would be beneficial in a deck that aims to disrupt an opponent's mana base by turning their Plains into colorless mana sources. However, in most cases, there are better cards available that offer more impactful effects or have a wider range of applications in a deck. Quarum Trench Gnomes may not see much play in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks due to its limited utility and situational nature.

The ability only replaces white mana produced by the Plains. If a Plains somehow tries to produce mana of a different color (for instance, if you control a Joiner Adept), this effect will not cause it to produce colorless mana.
