About Roalesk, Apex Hybrid

Roalesk, Apex Hybrid, Legendary creature — human mutant, designed by Svetlin Velinov first released in May, 2020 in the set War of the Spark Promos and was printed exactly in 3 different ways. It see play in 1 formats: Commander. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 17.50.

Roalesk, Apex Hybrid would be a great addition to a Simic or Bant deck focused on +1/+1 counters and proliferate mechanics, providing strong synergy with cards like Hardened Scales or Doubling Season. While Roalesk's ability to proliferate twice upon death is powerful, its high mana cost may make it less competitive compared to more efficient options like Winding Constrictor or Corpsejack Menace in faster-paced decks. However, in a slower, more midrange or control-oriented deck, Roalesk's combination of flying, trample, and proliferate can provide significant value and board presence, making it a solid inclusion for players looking to capitalize on +1/+1 counters and proliferate strategies.

Rules

03/19/21

If a permanent has +1/+1 counters and -1/-1 counters on it, they’re removed in pairs as a state-based action so that the permanent has only one of those kinds of counters on it.

03/19/21

You don’t have to choose every permanent or player that has a counter, only the ones you want to add another counter to. Since “any number” includes zero, you don’t have to choose any permanents at all, and you don’t have to choose any players at all.

05/03/19

If a spell or ability puts counters on a player or permanent and then instructs you to proliferate, choosing that player or permanent will give that player or permanent another of those counters.

05/03/19

The War of the Spark set doesn’t include any ways for players to have counters, but some cards in other sets say that a player “gets” a counter of a certain kind. Notably, emblems aren’t counters.

05/03/19

You proliferate twice all while Roalesk’s last ability is resolving. Nothing can happen between the two proliferations, and no player may choose to take actions.
