Puncturing Light would be beneficial in a White Weenie or Aggro deck in Magic: the Gathering, where efficiently removing small blockers or attackers can swing the game in your favor. While Puncturing Light is a decent removal option, cards like Path to Exile or Swords to Plowshares offer more versatile and powerful removal options, making them better choices in most cases. However, Puncturing Light could still see play in specific metas where the 3-power restriction is relevant.

Unless that creature leaves combat, it continues to be a blocking creature through the end of combat step, even if the creature or creatures that it was blocking are no longer on the battlefield or have otherwise left combat by then.
